The Role

Job Description
Davenport Kraft Heinz is looking for a Quality Control Coordinator. This person will assist production line to produce high quality products. Aid Line Tech or Supervisor in supervising production through quality control and HACCP process checks. Base knowledge of all job functions on the production line. Focus on maintaining a safe work environment. Ensure quality product is produced and continual improvement. This position also has accountability for Q-RMP standards as outlined.
Functions and Responsibilities
Perform and document all production startup checks at the given time limits to insure all finished product specifications are met using start-up sheets. In a timely manner, evaluate and document product quality by sampling product at various stages using process check sheets for each item. Develop and ensure execution of strategies that improve the agility and reliability of the supply base in support of new product launches and line extensions. Proactively work with strategic suppliers to deliver continuous improvement ideas and technology which ultimately leads to drive our advantage and revenue generating opportunities. Perform and document periodic audit checks of line operators to insure all HACCP/Process checks are done correctly and in a timely manner. Assist in product changeovers to insure all previously run packaging supplies are removed from the line and current running packaging supplies is available. Verify and document accuracy of Loma Check weighers. Communicate and document problems to Line Tech or Supervisor. Assist operators as needed in their effort to perform the functions of the job to the highest quality and safety levels. Perform miscellaneous tasks such as Housekeeping, inspections and Packer training on product specifications. Collect, verify accuracy and file all daily quality, HACCP and manufacturing process paper work. Perform all other tasks as assigned by Supervisor. Assist Line Tech and Supervisor in maintaining a safe work environment.
Education/job knowledge/experience:
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent.
SPECIALIZED JOB KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/SKILL LEVEL: Previous pickle packer experience. Basic math and interpersonal skills, the ability to work with limited supervision, work within certain time constraints, neat and accurate handwriting for detailing information. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

  • Mental Requirements (MR): Simple Reading, stooping, simple math, simple tasks, coordinating, analyzing, supervising, instructing, follow instructions, time requirement, problem solving, independent judgment, decision making.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a meat-processing/raw foods environment.
  • Ability to be flexible with working any 2nd shift hours.
  • Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment including lift up to 50lbs (bend/carry/push/pull) and be able to do so continuously throughout an 8-hour shift; ability to stand for an entire 8-hour or 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to work in extreme cold temperatures/wet environment working conditions .


Work Environment & Schedule
This is position is considered a manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. . Schedule is second shift hours may vary due to the needs of the business.
