The Senior Engineering Partner is a high‑impact technical role responsible for owning, stabilizing, and scaling production systems while partnering closely with the Transformation team. This role requires deep backend engineering expertise, strong architectural judgment, hands‑on AI‑assisted development experience, and the ability to set engineering standards across fast‑moving, AI‑enabled environments. This is expected to be a long‑term collaboration (pending fit) and is a priority hire.
ResponsibilitiesOwn end‑to‑end delivery and maintenance of production systems with 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Provide senior‑level technical judgment through prior tech‑lead or architect responsibilities.
Build and review backend services using Python or TypeScript/Node, including fast, high‑quality code reviews.
Use AI‑assisted development tools (Claude Code or similar) to accelerate development and correct flawed AI‑generated output.
Define and enforce engineering standards: testing frameworks, CI/CD gates, code review guidelines, and production‑ready criteria — especially for AI‑built or rapidly developed tools.
Design and integrate APIs, data models, async workflows, and queue‑based processing across multiple systems.
Manage cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including deployments, infrastructure‑as‑code, and environment setup.
Build and maintain SQL‑based data pipelines, ensure data quality, and reconcile data across multiple systems of record.
Harden, stabilize, or rewrite fragile internal tools without disrupting ongoing business operations.
Experience supporting transformation or modernization initiatives.
Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and mentor engineers.
Familiarity with rapid prototyping in AI‑driven development environments.
Candidates previously considered for SEO Front‑End Engineer who also match backend depth may be suitable.
Skills Required
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Prior experience in technical lead or architect responsibilities
- Backend development experience with Python or TypeScript/Node.js
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar
- Experience designing APIs, data models, asynchronous workflows, and queue-based processing
- Experience managing AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments, deployments, and infrastructure as code
- Experience building SQL-based data pipelines and reconciling data across systems
- Experience supporting transformation or modernization initiatives
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and mentor engineers
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping in AI-driven development environments
