26-16 Data Full-Stack Development Intern

The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for one (1) Data Full-Stack Development Intern to provide support to Germplasm Health Unit in Lima, Peru.

Key responsibilities:

·       Develop and production of a Web-based Application for Germplasm Health Unit (GHU), Pathology Laboratory information management, including interfaces to connect with the corporative database and users’ databases and eventually external ones.

·       Optimize the use and proper maintenance of historical data archives.

·       Generate reports

·       Provide maintenance to the AWS (S3) used for bioinformatics analysis.

·       Ensure system security, documentation, and readiness for production deployment.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to scalable solutions for CGIAR GHUs.

What are we looking for?

·       Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

·       Ranked in the upper third of their faculty (mandatory requirement). 

·       Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React).

·       Proven experience developing full-stack applications (APIs, databases, frontend, authentication).

·       Familiarity with Git, code review, testing, and CI/CD practices.

·       Ability to document work clearly and follow structured development processes.

·       Proficiency in English and Spanish.
