The Pipeline Commercial Operations & Business Development role is responsible for maximizing the commercial performance of pipeline assets while supporting strategic growth initiatives. This position operates at the intersection of commercial strategy, customer engagement, contract management, and market analysis, supporting both ongoing operations and new business development efforts. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, industry expertise, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, legal, finance, scheduling, and commercial teams.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day commercial activities for pipeline assets, including contract administration, tariff application, quality, and volume tracking
- Monitor throughput, capacity utilization, and revenue performance; identify and execute optimization opportunities
- Ensure compliance with commercial agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Develop and maintain relationships with producers, shippers, refiners, and other key stakeholders
- Collaborate with scheduling, operations, and accounting teams to resolve imbalances, invoicing issues, and customer inquiries
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for pipeline systems
- Identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities to increase utilization and revenue
- Develop and support commercial strategies for system expansions, new connections, and greenfield projects
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Contribute to long-term commercial planning and asset optimization initiatives

Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years minimum experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Direct and tangible experience with midstream business development and/or oil & gas markets

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college
- Business or Engineering Degree Highly Preferred
- MBA Preferred
