With proven solutions, award-winning technologies, and a team of expert problem solvers, Navitas has consistently empowered customers to use technology as a competitive advantage and deliver cutting-edge transformative solutions.
What You’ll Do:
We are seeking an experienced Product Architect to lead the modernization and architectural redesign of our customer’s legacy platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in application modernization efforts—helping teams move from monolithic systems to modular, scalable, cloud-native platforms.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring collaboration across engineering, product management, compliance, and operations to ensure that the reimagined platform meets business, technical, and regulatory/compliance goals.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Architect the rewrite of a legacy system into a modern, cloud-based solution using scalable, modular design patterns (e.g., microservices, APIs).
- Lead technical product definition, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical feasibility.
- Conduct a gap analysis of current system capabilities and define the roadmap for incremental modernization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders.
- Translate strategic objectives into executable roadmaps by aligning business capabilities with technology enablers.
- Define and enforce domain-driven design, data models, and integration patterns tailored to healthcare benefits workflows (e.g., enrollment, adjudication, member management).
- Provide solutions that support management of legacy applications while modernizing and building the new application (increment translation/migration of the features and data).
- Lead efforts to evaluate and adopt modern technologies, frameworks, and vendor tools as needed.
- Identify tools/solutions that will enhance customer experience and promote self-serve capabilities while budget/cost friendly.
- Guide platform decisions around security, HIPAA compliance, and data privacy.
- Establish technical documentation standards, architectural blueprints, and design principles for the platform rewrite.
- 8+ years of experience in software architecture, with 3+ years focused on application modernization or platform rewrites.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and modern technologies (e.g., microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, containerization).
- Strong analytical and communication skills with a track record of aligning technology programs to business outcomes.
- Proven experience working with legacy platforms (e.g., JAVA, JBOSS, COBOL, mainframe, .NET monoliths) and transforming them to cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and associated services.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a track record of cross-team collaboration.
- Experience working in Agile environments with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git.
- Certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF) or cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with legacy data migration, platform deprecation, and rollout planning.
- Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, and systems integration concepts.
- Prior experience as a Product Architect or Technical Product Owner in a healthcare technology company.
- Strong domain expertise in healthcare benefits (payer systems, EDI X12 transactions like 834/837, claims processing, eligibility & enrollment, etc.).
- Familiarity with compliance standards in healthcare, including HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and interoperability regulations.
- Exposure to third-party healthcare benefits platforms (e.g., TriZetto, Benefitfocus, Availity, etc.).
