What You’ll Do:
The Senior SSIS Developer will be responsible for the conversion of DataStage jobs into SSIS jobs, integrating with Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases while leveraging existing stored procedures, functions, and views. This role requires strong SSIS and ETL experience, as well as expertise in integrating databases with other systems and applications.
The developer will work within IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System), using Agile-based methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities include troubleshooting ETL issues, optimizing performance, and contributing to technical documentation and unit testing. The position involves working across multiple agency stakeholders, supporting data analysis for a large education-based customer.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Convert DataStage jobs into SSIS jobs, ensuring efficient data integration.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for data aggregation and analysis.
  • Work with SQL, PL/SQL, and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Utilize PowerShell or similar scripting languages for process automation.
  • Troubleshoot ETL issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data integration requirements.
  • Maintain technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Conduct development and unit testing to validate ETL processes.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies, contributing to sprint planning and review sessions.

What You’ll Need:

  • 7 years of software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in SSIS and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience working with IBM DataStage.
  • Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL tools, and data mapping.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot ETL issues and optimize performance.
