🚀 Project Overview You will join a forward-thinking research team supporting the internal IT & Operations Employee Experience (EX) portfolio for a major enterprise client. As a Senior UX Researcher, your primary focus will be uncovering core user tasks using Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) frameworks and evaluating AI-enabled solutions, self-service tools, and digital workplace systems. You will translate complex user behaviors into decision-ready insights that boost workforce productivity, establish user trust in AI, and reduce operational friction before solutions scale across the organization.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Research Execution: Independently scope, plan, and conduct mixed-method (qualitative and quantitative) research studies, navigating ambiguous questions to deliver actionable, decision-ready recommendations.
- AI & Self-Service Evaluation: Plan and moderate user studies evaluating AI assistants, automated workflows, and self-service experiences to identify adoption barriers, trust issues, and validation needs prior to full rollout.
- JTBD Framework Maintenance: Maintain, extend, and apply Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) frameworks across internal product initiatives, updating research artifacts to align new tool evaluations with the enterprise suite.
- Material & Pipeline Management: Develop end-to-end research assets, including recruitment screeners, test plans, participant criteria, and protocol materials for high-priority projects.
- Insight Synthesis & Storytelling: Synthesize complex findings into clear, executive-ready presentations, research artifacts, and actionable stakeholder readouts.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Operations, and Service Management teams to validate tooling decisions and optimize workflows.
- Research Artifact Traceability: Document and maintain traceable research findings, decision logs, and insights within shared collaboration systems and research repositories.
💡 Must-Have Skills
- Senior Experience: 5+ years of hands-on UX Research experience at a senior Individual Contributor (IC) level, with proven autonomy in scoping, executing, and synthesizing studies.
- Methodological Depth: Advanced skills in selecting, executing, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Domain Focus: Direct experience researching enterprise internal tools, employee experience (EX), or complex cross-functional operational workflows.
- Strategic Frameworks (JTBD): Demonstrated experience developing and applying Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) or comparable strategic frameworks to drive product and operational decisions.
- Platform & Repository Proficiency: Hands-on experience with modern research platforms for participant recruitment, moderated/unmoderated testing, surveys, and insight synthesis/repository tools.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong stakeholder management skills across Product, Design, Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Executive Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including concise readouts and executive-ready storytelling.
- AI & Emerging Tech Research: Experience researching AI-enabled products, virtual assistants, or automation, specifically focusing on user trust, validation behaviors, reliance, and rollout readiness.
- Digital Workplace & ITSM: Experience with employee experience platforms, IT Service Management (ITSM), self-service support, or enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Framework Evolution: Proven track record of scaling or evolving a JTBD framework across diverse product and service areas.
- End-to-End Product Impact: History of shipping impactful research that directly influenced enterprise tooling, AI adoption, or self-service efficiency.
- Post-Launch Measurement: Experience partnering with product teams through launch, measurement, and post-implementation phases to track long-term impact.
