Barings is seeking candidates for summer internship opportunities across public and private markets in credit, real assets, and capital solutions. This 10-week program provides hands-on experience and exposure to the financial industry. Interns will work on real business priorities, develop foundational investment skills, and learn how technology and AI-enabled tools are being responsibly used to support research, analysis, communication, and productivity. High-performing interns may be considered for the Analyst Program upon graduation.
Opportunities are available across a variety of investment teams, including Capital Solutions, Global Private Finance, High Yield, Portfolio Finance, Portfolio Solutions & Analytics, Private Placements & Asset Backed Finance, Real Estate, and more.
Primary Responsibilities
Support underwriting activities for debt or equity opportunities through:
Market research
Financial analysis and modeling
Risk assessment and valuation
Investment memo preparation
Participate in portfolio monitoring, analysis, and valuation activities.
Learn and apply approved technology and AI-enabled tools to support research, analysis, workflow efficiency, and communication while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
Assist with special projects, presentations, and other team initiatives.
Qualifications
Current junior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and expected graduation in Spring 2028 from an accredited university.
Preferred majors include Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Statistics, and related fields. Candidates with relevant coursework, project experience, or demonstrated interest in investment management, financial markets, analytics, real estate, or similar areas are encouraged to apply.
Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from credible sources.
Demonstrated curiosity and learning agility, including a willingness to learn and responsibly use AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot to support research, analysis, communication, collaboration, and productivity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, transaction-focused team environment.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively under deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
Curiosity, adaptability, sound judgment, and a growth mindset, with an interest in how investment teams use data, technology, and collaboration to deliver results.
Salary Range: $29–$35/hour plus additional incentives.
