Northrop Grumman is seeking aspiring Electrical/Systems Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Mission Systems sector in Baltimore, MD.  


The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Flight Test division.


Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027
  • Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a very closely related STEM degree.
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities
  • Previous experience or foundational knowledge of aviation, specifically with fixed wing turbine aircraft
  • Good presentation and writing/communication skills
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a fast paced, high performing team environment
  • Possess an understanding of standard electrical engineering drawing conventions.
  • Commitment to a Just and Safe culture where shared accountability and safety forward actions are paramount.

Intern Pay Range:

Bachelor’s: $20.50 to $37.25 per hour

Master’s: $29.00 to $45.50 per hour


At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

Primary Level Salary Range: $20.50 - $45.50

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
