Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, Product - Embedded Software for John Deere in Fargo, ND, you will:
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation.
  • Define and prioritize engineering work by translating stakeholder needs into requirements and specifications.
  • Establish the technical roadmap and phased release plan, managing scope, cost, schedule, and risks.
  • Develop and optimize embedded firmware for real-time control systems, integrating drivers, bootloaders, diagnostics, and communications.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, focusing on timing, CPU/memory budgeting, and reliability.
  • Author and refine engineering processes, evaluate their effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Plan and oversee verification and validation, ensuring compliance with requirements as well as regulatory and industry practices.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to resolve issues, manage risks, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Up to 20% international and domestic travel required to perform system integration, requirements workshops and trainings. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 20% remote work allowed.

What Skills You Need
  • 4 years of experience in lead global engineering team to achieve customer milestones while managing multiple concurrent projects with time-sensitive deadlines. Experienced in project planning and using AGILE methodologies to execute projects. Coordinate supplier support for product development and issues. Manage stakeholder input and author product requirements using a formal requirements management tool such as Windchill or Polarion; maintain traceability between requirements and formal tests using the formal requirements management tool.
  • 4 years of experience in proficient in programming with both C and Python. Experienced in implementing and maintaining CAN drivers. Configuration of peripheral drivers. Hands-on troubleshooting and integration of SW on target HW platform. Test automation using Python. Hands-on experience with Aurix TC3x micro and using debugger to analyze watchdog, stack usage, CPU usage, traps, interrupts, FEE/NVM, and CAN drivers, and perform error-insertion testing.
  • 5 years of experience in system testing and validation, with strong expertise in failure analysis, root cause determination. Skilled in developing and executing test plans and python scripts for testing new features and debugging complex system integration issues to provide solutions across hardware, architecture, and software domains.
  • 4 years of experience in skilled with Vector CAN tools. Expert user of Vector .dbc files including experience with integrating the .dbc file data into other software tools and systems.
  • 6 years of experience in provide direct technical support to OEM customers, including root cause analysis and resolution of complex product issues reported by external customer. Customer point of contact for technical communications.
  • 4 years of experience in deliver ISO26262 compliant software including testing and documentation per the requirements of the standard.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 6 years related experience.
