TriState Capital Bank is seeking a motivated and dynamic intern who is ready to apply knowledge of financial terms and principles to an authentic real-world experience. The AML intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and learning about varied financial activities. Reporting directly to the AML and Sanctions Officer, the intern will gain hands-on experience in understanding federal AML and Sanctions regulations and how financial institutions implement operational practices to ensure compliance. Interns will be asked to present an end of assignment presentation at the end of their internship.
Primary Functions of the Position:- Attending and actively participating in AML/FCM team meetings.
- Providing feedback on ongoing work and escalating high-risk client activity to AML/FCM Managers and the AML Officer.
- Participating in AML Officer Escalation Meetings, AML Officer Ecosystem Trainings, and the AML Oversight Group (AMLOG), gaining exposure to leadership decision-making processes.
- The intern will rotate through three core functional teams:
- Client Intelligence Unit (CIU): Conducts due diligence on clients escalated during onboarding, with AML approval required before account establishment.
- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Reviews high-risk client accounts and transactional activity to identify potential AML and Sanctions risks.
- AML and Sanctions Investigations: Investigates customer alert activity using the automated monitoring platform to assess suspicious behavior and determine if federal reporting is necessary.
- Complete project assignments in conjunction with rotations and work with appropriate oversight to complete.
- Learn to accomplish objectives by developing and prioritizing actions as well as establishing and communicating the work plan to the appropriate participants.
- Effectively communicate in one on one, small group and large group settings. Possible examples include business meetings, sales calls, training sessions, email communication, and conference calls.
- Improve the quality of decision making by doing appropriate and thorough analysis.

- High School Diploma
- Junior or Senior pursuing Bachelor’s in: Finance, Business, Information Technology or related field
- Pursuing Master’s in: Finance, Business, Information Technology or related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management and staff.
- Proficient expertise with Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Highly motivated and organized with a desire to learn.
