Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Electromechanical Engineers/Electromechanical Engineers. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Melbourne, FL.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Test & Evaluation Engineering directorate, supporting the Instrumentation Electrical Design team.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for electrical designs associated with flight test electronic equipment, and integration onto test vehicles.  These design activities will be associated with any of the following – cable interface assemblies, data acquisition hardware, and a variety of sensors design to measure stress, thermal, vibration, and linear / rotational displacement.

Example Responsibilities:

  • Execute the electrical design life cycle from concept to system integration for flight test instrumentation hardware.
  • Facilitate cross IPT / discipline collaboration in the development of flight test instrumentation designs.
  • Procurement of hardware in support of electrical designs.
  • Serve as the point of contact with vendors, manufacturers, and technician teams in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of flight test instrumentation equipment.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Electromechanical Engineer (T01) or Electromechanical Engineer (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Electromechanical Engineer (T01):

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar STEM degree.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).  Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

  • Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution OR is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Electromechanical Engineering experience by August 2026.

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar STEM degree.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).  Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Government Secret or Top Secret security clearance

  • Inactive US Government Secret or Top Secret clearance, debriefed within the last 2 years

  • Experience using Siemens Capital Wiring Designer Essentials

  • Experience using Siemens NX CAD

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

Pay Range:

  • Associate Electromechanical Engineer (T01): $65,800 - $98,800/year

  • Electromechanical Engineer (T02): $79,300 - $118,900/year

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
