POSITION SCOPE:


The Culture and Community Programming Administrative Assistant provides administrative, operational, and organizational support to ensure the effective delivery of cultural, recreational, wellness, language, and community programming initiatives. This role serves as a key point of coordination between the Director, department staff, community members, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, leadership, external organizations, and funding agencies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive administrative support experience, preferably supporting senior management.
  • Experience working within a First Nation, Indigenous organization, community service organization is considered an asset.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, events, projects, and administrative systems.
  • Experience with records management, budget tracking, and report preparation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide confidential administrative support to the Director of Culture and Community Programming.
  • Manage calendars, schedules, appointments, travel arrangements, and departmental meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting packages, minutes, action-item tracking, and follow-up
  • correspondence.
  • Coordinate departmental communications and respond to inquiries from community members.
  • Draft, edit, and format reports, presentations, briefing notes, letters, funding submissions, and other departmental documents.
