On our proprietary research team—Market Intelligence—you’ll partner with our Compliance team to uncover insights about companies, industries, and the broader economy through applying data science and engineering techniques to alternative data sets. You’ll work alongside a talented team with diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives. Our industry researchers, product managers, and data scientists and engineers work together to build compliant research products. What you’ll do
- As a member of the Market Intelligence Engineering team, you will work closely with researchers and data scientists to design, build, and launch robust end-to-end data pipelines and tools that help extract the most value out of Point72’s data assets. In this role, you will gain exposure to:
- Developing big data processing pipelines including but not limited to ingestion, transformation, and end-customer delivery
- Building out our AWS cloud-based infrastructure for other data engineers / data scientists / researchers
- Being at the forefront of new technological developments with respect to the handling and processing of big data and conduct proof of concepts evaluations of new technologies
- Building and supporting web applications and other new ways to allow our users to explore our big data assets
What's required
- Experience with Python, SQL
- Basic knowledge of computer science fundamentals
- Familiarity with GIT for software version control
- Fundamentals of Bash scripting and Unix system usage
- Interests in infrastructure and development automation
- Willingness to work with various development frameworks and programming languages to meet application requirements.
