Scout Motors Internship Program
We will provide aspiring professionals with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams. Undergraduate Interns will immerse themselves in the EV landscape, gaining exposure to the latest trends, technologies, and market dynamics. Interns will be assigned meaningful projects aligned with Scout’s goals. These projects will challenge interns to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering problem-solving skills and creativity while working under the mentorship of our leaders.
This program is designed for current undergraduate students who live in our local market. Please note that no housing stipend is provided.
2025 Internship Program Overview
- Schedule: The program is anticipated to run mid-May to mid-August 2025
- Duration: Our internship program runs approximately 12 weeks, with the official end date varying dependent upon student needs and the start of respective Fall academic calendars
- Transportation + Housing: our Interns will be responsible for providing their own housing and transportation

- Scout Motors will not provide relocation or sponsorship as part of our Internship program
- High preference for currently enrolled Bachelors degree students
- Deadline: applications for the program must be received no later than April 11, 2025.
Location & Travel Expectations: This role is on-site and will be based out of our Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly.

About the Team:
The Commercial Operations Team at Scout encompasses Product Support within Technical Service Aftersales. This role is specifically designed to provide technical support to Scout workshops, conduct analysis and diagnostics of complex repair cases, and offer feedback to the Warranty and Quality Assurance departments regarding product quality issues. This ensures the continuous improvement of our products' quality.
Daily Responsibilities of the Internship Program include
Technical Service Center Project
The Technical Service Center is a dedicated space designed to perform diagnostic and complex repair tasks of our vehicles. As well as to test and analyze repair processes, special tools and workshop equipment and provide feedback regarding service systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial research on existing Technical Service Centers and best practices.
- Design the layout of the workshop, including work bays, storage areas, and administrative spaces. Analyze possible synergies within Scout.
- Identify necessary tools and equipment for electric vehicle repair and diagnostics.
- Plan the installation of infrastructure and systems, such as power supply, ventilation, and IT systems.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders and make necessary adjustments to the design and processes.
- Prepare and present a final project report and hand over all documentation to the relevant team.

- Must be enrolled in a degree program for Customer Experience, Marketing, Strategy or a similar field
- Must be able to work from Columbia, SC from mid-May to mid-August 2025.
- Strong interest in customer experience, customer journeys, marketing, marketing research, and/or brand engagement.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
- The ability to work across multiple functions (e.g., Retail Operations, Commercial Operations, Aftersales, IT, and Strategy) to drive alignment and consensus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools is preferred.
- Passion for the automotive industry, the great outdoors is a great plus.
