Position Overview
StepStone Private Wealth is seeking a Summer Intern with excellent quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills to support the due diligence efforts of financial platforms globally as they consider the suite of evergreen funds under management. The Summer Intern’s primary role is to provide operational support to SPW’s due diligence function. This team oversees and manages fund data across four portfolio strategies and controls the information being shared externally. The intern will help manage intake of new requests, maintain the team’s content library, and ad-hoc projects, such as metric tracking.
The candidate is expected to show a desire to understand the details of the underlying products and the competitive landscape to support these efforts appropriately. The person should have a basic understanding of the investment landscape and an interest in the private markets space (specifically, private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and private debt), strong interpersonal skills, and project management skills.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with maintaining the private wealth central database of responses (using the Responsive software application) to ensure content is kept up to date.
- Collaborate with team’s effort to incorporate machine-learning technology to pre-populate the initial responses to inbound questionnaires.
- Strong commitment to high-quality writing, attention to detail and ability to constructively critique and proofread deliverables.
- Conduct market research on peers in the private wealth space.
- Assist with various ad-hoc tasks, projects, and analyses to support the due diligence team and broader StepStone Private Wealth platform.
Education Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or liberal arts.
- Experience with related financial services (private equity, or investment management) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Follow-up skills, focus on accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.
- Demonstrated ability for quality control and maintaining clean data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize activities while working on multiple projects and achieve target deadlines.
