Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including but not limited to curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and vegetarian and non-vegetarian specialties.
- Menu Development: Assist in creating and refining the menu by introducing new dishes and ensuring they meet our high standards of taste and presentation.
- Ingredient Management: Select and source fresh ingredients, spices, and other necessary items. Ensure the kitchen is stocked and manage inventory levels.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation. Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with our recipes and quality guidelines.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure the kitchen area, utensils, and equipment are clean, sanitized, and organized. Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and management. Provide training and guidance to junior cooks and kitchen assistants.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to receive feedback and tailor dishes to their preferences.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Indian Cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant.
- In-depth knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques and recipes.
- Familiarity with various Indian regional cuisines.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Certification in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.
