What is the opportunity?
Are you interested in the opportunity to work as a Fall Student for Global Procurement at RBC? By applying to this job posting, you will be considered for the multiple Fall Student roles available across RBC’s Global Procurement Sourcing teams.
What will you do?
Working with Senior Procurement Representatives your responsibilities will include the following:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of RBC spend for multiple categories.
- Build in-depth Supplier Management knowledge and provide valuable support and guidance to RBC Business Unit with supplier management activities.
- Assist the Procurement team and businesses in the acquisition of goods and services.
- Develop performance related metrics to measure and report upon RBC, Supplier and sourcing effectiveness.
- Evaluate / Recommends potential cost savings resulting from contract / relationship reviews.
- Mitigate risk by educating RBC Business Units on the Supplier Management process.
- Mitigate RBC risk exposure by ensuring that the RBC contract standards are followed.
- Support, influence and challenge decisions based on data and insightful analyses.
- Assist to manage end to end sourcing process for assigned categories including:
- Manage the eRFx processes as applicable.
- Ensure established policies and practices (internal controls) are adhered to in the sourcing process.
- Source Suppliers offering the best combination of price, service and quality.
- Identify working groups and oversight boards ensuring representation from key stakeholders and impacted LOB.
- Ensure/facilitate an Implementation Plan for transition of selected Supplier and monitors implementation, if applicable.
- Ensure mandatory due diligence is performed and accountable for reporting/tracking potential savings.
- Continuously improves the end-to-end sourcing process.
- Use spend information and category metrics to influence business groups to address key opportunities for demand management.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on, Supply Chain, Procurement, Law, Business Administration, Data Science, or related fields.
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent storytelling skills.
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
- Ability to complete projects on time, with accuracy and making the most effective use of available time.
- Attention to accuracy and detail.
Nice-to-have
- Supplier management experience
- Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment.
- Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with others in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and knowledge and ability to work in an agile and flexible environment.
- Self-starter; must work independently with minimal supervision.

This posting is for a 4-months Fall 2025 Student placement with a start date of September 2025, and end date of December 2025. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2025 ; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2025), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
