We are looking for a Division Manager, leader responsible for overseeing all administrative activities within the Climate Variability and Prediction (CLIVAP) division and its projects.

ROLE
The Division Manager reports to the CLIVAP Division Director and is responsible for overseeing all administrative activities within the division and its projects. Based on the indications of the Division Director, the Division Manager will be the owner of planning and budgeting, personnel management, procurement, travels and projects administration/management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Division Manager will support the CLIVAP Division, with:
- Operational processes related to opening research projects and their financial, administrative, and reporting management, in collaboration with the Project Managers, Project Function and the Central Services.
- Administrative personnel management activities of Division with strategic approach (stabilizations, promotions, contract renewals, attendance monitoring, MBO, hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, management of business trips and so on).
- Management of the division procurement.
- Three-year planning and monitoring of Division scientific activities in line with Division's strategic objectives.
- Supporting the Division Director in the implementation of fundraising strategy and definition of scientific proposal plan, acting as liaison with Fundraising Office for preparation of new proposals.
- Elaboration and monitoring of (semi-annual and annual) budget, accordingly with the Legal, Communication and Procurement Offices, when needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong focus on research objectives.
- Ability to coordinate and manage personnel.
- Ability to plan, organize and supervise research activities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of the English language.
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
- The Managers will be based in Bologna CMCC office.
- Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience.
- Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.
- Flexible working time as per internal policies.

What We Do
The Foundation Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC) is a research centre on climate science and policy.
The CMCC:
- Integrates all studies on climate change and adaptation/mitigation policies
- Promotes collaboration and synergy with international organisations, policy makers, and industry
- Provides technical-scientific support to the institutions involved in the negotiation and international cooperation activities.
CMCC produces thorough studies regarding climate variability, causes, and consequences, through the development of high-resolution simulations based on global models of Earth systems and regional models, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean area.
CMCC's research assures the maintenance of highly reliable products and instruments, which are made available to the scientific community and to further studies on climate science and climate change impacts.
CMCC maintains, checks, and develops numeric model simulations, which are used to study the effects of climate change on the following areas: economy, agriculture, coastal areas, marine and land environment, hydrogeological cycle, carbon cycle and human health
