Job Description

The Staff Accountant, Expense plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and scalable expense reporting across Ensora Health’s portfolio of brands. This role supports month‑end close, general ledger activities, and financial analysis while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to ensure expenses are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a modern accounting environment—leveraging automation, intelligent systems, and data‑driven insights to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility as the business grows.
What You’ll Do
  • Own Expense Accounting: Manage monthly expense recognition for assigned brand(s), including proper classification, accruals, and deferrals, using system controls and automation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure GAAP Compliance: Record expenses in the appropriate accounting period in compliance with U.S. GAAP, applying sound judgment and data validation practices.
  • Manage Fixed Assets & Intangibles: Record fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and amortization of intangible assets, leveraging accounting system workflows to streamline processes.
  • Reconcile Intercompany Activity: Balance and reconcile intercompany accounts monthly, identifying discrepancies and using data analysis to drive timely resolution.
  • Prepare Journal Entries: Prepare and post general ledger journal entries with clear, complete supporting documentation, ensuring audit readiness and transparency.
  • Perform Account Reconciliations: Complete balance sheet reconciliations for prepaids, accrued expenses, accounts payable, credit cards, intercompany, fixed assets, and intangible assets, using reconciliations as a diagnostic tool to surface trends and risks.
  • Analyze Expense Variances: Perform period‑over‑period expense analysis and provide clear, logical explanations for fluctuations, using data and reporting tools to generate actionable insights.
  • Support Reporting & Analysis: Maintain accurate financial records and provide detailed support for ad hoc analysis, management reporting, and business decision‑making.
  • Support Audit & Special Projects: Assist with the annual audit by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries; participate in special projects that improve processes, systems, or scalability.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Partner with peers to enhance accounting workflows, including the thoughtful adoption of automation, AI‑enabled tools, and best practices as the business evolves.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • SaaS industry experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Workday or similar modern accounting systems.
  • Comfort working with automated and AI‑assisted accounting tools for reconciliations, reporting, or variance analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and follow tasks through to resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive insights, identify risks, and improve processes.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both executives and peers in a collaborative environment.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and motivated to work in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
