Responsibilities
- Design and operate a highly available ERP system on AWS
- Own AWS architecture, infrastructure, and operational stability end-to-end
- Deploy application updates with zero or minimal downtime
- Implement, maintain, and test backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Lead full ERP system recovery in case of major failures or AWS account suspension
- Migrate databases with minimal data loss during incidents or planned changes
- Transfer file storage (S3, EFS) across AWS accounts
- Execute DNS cutovers with minimal service downtime
- Monitor system health 24/7 and respond to production incidents
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues, outages, and infrastructure failures
- Define and execute safe upgrade, rollback, and recovery procedures
- Secure servers, databases, backups, and access controls
- Respond to security breaches and ransomware scenarios
- Continuously optimize AWS costs and remove unused resources
- Take personal ownership of critical systems and delegate non-critical tasks
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
- Proven experience owning and operating mission-critical ERP or similar business-critical systems
- Strong experience designing highly available and fault-tolerant AWS architectures
- Deep practical knowledge of EC2, ECS, EKS, and Lambda, including real-world tradeoffs
- Experience with zero-downtime or near-zero-downtime deployments
- Hands-on experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Real experience recovering systems after major outages or failures
- Strong experience migrating databases with minimal or no data loss
- Experience with cross-account AWS migrations (compute, storage, data)
- Strong AWS security knowledge (IAM, access control, audits)
- Experience responding to security incidents or ransomware threats
- Experience with 24/7 production monitoring and incident response
- Strong AWS cost optimization and cost-control mindset
- Experience operating high-volume email infrastructure (AWS SES or similar)
- High ownership mindset and ability to make critical decisions under pressure
