Staff Accountant
Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Staff Accountant performs general accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll analysis, general ledger and month-end closings.
Responsibilities:
- Record Accounts Payable and Cash Disbursements
- Preparation of billings
- Record cash receipts
- Perform Bank and other account reconciliations
- Process and administer payroll
- Work with internal and external accounting team to assist with preparation of financial statements, incl. balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports in accordance with monthly close plan
- Review statements, investigate variances and correct any errors
- Maintain records for disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.
- Ensure accuracy of accounts
- Assist and support annual tax returns and other corporate reporting requirements.
- Assist with preparations for the annual audit.
- Corresponds with other departments to ensure proper accounting for revenue, purchases and expenses.
- Maintain accounting systems to ensure correct and efficient recording of financial transactions.
- Supports the Controller and CFO in the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications & Required Skills
- A strong work ethic and ability to work with operational functions
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparing financial statements and supporting organizational accounting functions
- Experience with Unanet in an accounting or reporting function required
- Excellent organization and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or other related discipline
- 0-2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
Additional Desired Skills:
- Working knowledge of government development programs and contracting.
- Experience in a startup environment or project-based, engineering company a plus.
- Unanet highly desired
- FAR/DCAA Regulations highly desired
Location: Headquarters in Manassas, VA.
Travel: 5%
Salary: Electra’s salary range for this position is: $53,300.00 - $118,900.00.
Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.
