Consultant EPlus Acquires Dallas-Area Future Com to Boost Cybersecurity Offerings

Future Com states it will have expanded capabilities and resources under the global provider.

Herndon, Virginia-based ePlus announced this week that it acquired Grapevine, Texas-based cybersecurity firm Future Com in an effort to boost its cybersecurity services and expand its presence in the South-Central region of the U.S.

The acquisition closed on July 16. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EPlus, which has offices across the U.S. and the world, offers a variety of consultative and managed services across the technology spectrum, including cybersecurity, cloud, data centers and networking.

By acquiring Future Com, ePlus aims to bolster its cybersecurity practice, which accounts for more than $500 million of its annual adjusted gross billings, Mark Marron, ePlus president and CEO, said in a statement. EPlus also looks forward to gaining access to enhanced engineering, sales and services in the South-Central U.S.

“In addition to strengthening our security capabilities, it strengthens our geographic presence in Texas and around the entire region, allowing us to provide an expanded level of support to customers there with expertise spanning the entire security landscape,” Marron said.

Future Com offers hardware, software, support and consulting services. Future Com President and CEO Douglas Hollenshead said in a statement that joining the ePlus team is an exciting step for the company and its employees.

“We have decades of specialized experience helping our customers navigate the evolving cybersecurity landscape and new emerging threats,” he said. “Being acquired by ePlus means that our customers now have access to the expanded capabilities and deeper breadth of resources a global provider can offer.
