Manages marine personnel operations, including vessel crew recruiting, scheduling, onboarding, payroll and timekeeping, travel reimbursements, training, licensing records, union compliance, and employee relations. Coordinates with Human Resources, Payroll, Labor Relations, Marine Operations, and external training vendors. Conducts vessel visits, supports disciplinary and return-to-work processes, maintains staffing and seniority records, and ensures crews meet regulatory and contractual requirements.

Coordinates and delegates crew assignments, stands sea and mooring watches, pilots and navigates vessels, assists with barge docking, operates and maintains vessel equipment, conducts safety meetings and inspections, prepares equipment reports, and carries out the Master’s Maintenance Plan. The role requires maritime licensing, towing-vessel experience, radar and radio credentials, physical work, and operation in variable marine conditions.

Leads end-to-end business process improvement initiatives, including workflow mapping, automation identification, Lean Six Sigma analysis, business case development, KPI tracking, SOP governance, change management, and cross-functional project coordination. The role partners with stakeholders and IT to implement new processes and systems, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive measurable operational outcomes across office, terminal, and company property environments.
