Xiant Technologies – The Rhythym of Life

Xiant Technologies (XTI) has created a highly differentiated approach to agricultural lighting for both poultry and plants. XTI uses light as a primary controller of biological function by targeting specific photoreceptors in a variety of living species. This targeting results in very specific control of a variety of factors in order to produce favorable economic results.

Plants – Xiant Photoponix
The world must feed an additional 3 million people by 2050. Xiant plans to facilitate this need by making indoor production of food on a worldwide scale manageable and profitable. Xiant research has shown that the combination of targeting and titration of light to specific photoreceptors allows for biological control and economic feasibility via decreased energy consumption. Targeting is achieved using specific wavelengths of light shown to affect a targeted photoreceptor. Titration is achieved via a proprietary process involving custom software, LED emitters and infrared gas analyzers. This system allows for realtime analysis of the reaction of a plant to differing wavelengths, duration and intensities of light. The data is then analyzed in order to establish the optimal light recipe for a particular species and growth stage of any plant.

Poultry
With the understanding that the same wavelengths of light are responsible for biological control of plants and animals, Xiant has leveraged its experience in researching plants and applied that knowledge towards poultry production. Poultry egg production is primarily controlled via a process which begins with the photoreceptor protein opsin which is found in the poultry hypothalamus. This protein, when excited by specific wavelengths of light, begins a chemical cascade which stimulates luteinizing hormone (LH) which induces the production of follicular stimulating hormone (FSH). FSH is responsible for ovulation in poultry and thus regulates egg production
