Whitney Museum of American Art Benefits Overview

Support the Whitney Museum’s email marketing, digital campaigns, tourism and community initiatives, exhibition advertising performance reporting, influencer engagement, research, and marketing events. The intern will gain experience in audience strategy, channel strategy, brand voice, and museum marketing while receiving training in MailChimp, Microsoft Office, and departmental processes.

Paid, onsite curatorial internship supporting exhibitions and permanent collection stewardship related to American art from 1900–1960. Responsibilities include archival, provenance, and art historical research; preparing archive materials; supporting gifts, acquisitions, exhibition proposals, presentations, and administrative tasks. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited academic program, demonstrate research experience, and be organized and proactive. Interest in art history and archival research is preferred.

Paid, onsite digital content internship supporting the Whitney Museum’s video, web, and social media channels. The intern will help plan and produce short-form videos, conduct archival research, support exhibitions planning, livestreaming, transcription, and digital asset management. The role provides training in content strategy, media production, project management, and communications.
