Teams at Whatcom Family YMCA

Recruits, screens, schedules, and supports staff for YMCA BASE and Camp programs. Coordinates interviews, onboarding, substitute coverage, time-off requests, timecards, payroll preparation, employee records, certifications, and compliance tracking. Partners with program leaders to address staffing needs and may provide occasional direct childcare support. Participates in recruitment events, family activities, and fundraising while promoting YMCA values and safe, positive experiences for children.

The Chief Operations Officer will lead day-to-day, multi-site YMCA operations; coach senior leaders; strengthen membership, programs, facilities, financial performance, systems, and organizational effectiveness; and prepare the organization for a new 85,000-square-foot facility. The role partners with the CEO, Board, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders to execute strategy, manage growth and change, improve performance through data, and advance the YMCA’s mission and community impact.
