Wave Mobile Money Benefits Overview

The Assistant Controller will help build and maintain Wave’s finance and accounting function in Côte d’Ivoire. Responsibilities include monitoring transactions, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, maintaining accounting controls, managing external auditors, overseeing financial reporting and tax matters, and leading the Finance team. The role also partners with Product Managers on accounting and tax considerations for new products and requires fluent French and English, strong leadership, and experience with Côte d’Ivoire financial reporting and tax audits.

Supports the Financial Controller with daily accounting operations and month-end close activities. Responsibilities include booking entries, reconciling invoices and discrepancies, tracking advance payments, researching accounting data, preparing payments, completing financial closing tasks, and maintaining confidential financial records. The role is based in Burkina Faso, requires local work authorization, and may involve travel to field locations.

Coordinate agent branding initiatives across the Democratic Republic of Congo. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing branding materials, improving agent visual standards, sourcing cost-effective branding partners, tracking installation quality and visibility, coordinating with field sales teams, and managing marketing-material inventory to prevent stock-outs. The role is permanently based across Kinshasa, Bandundu, and Kongo Central, with travel to field locations.
