Teams at Watney Robotics Inc

Design intuitive interfaces for teleoperation, data exploration, annotation, fleet coordination, scheduling, and task management across autonomous robotic systems. Collaborate with operators and engineers to understand complex workflows, prototype and test solutions with technical users, and ship and refine designs for a growing deployed robot fleet. The role spans software interfaces and physical interactions, including controls used to operate and coordinate robots.

Build and own software tools for reviewing robot data, aligning telemetry with errors, curating datasets, creating training sets, and supporting annotation and quality review workflows. Collaborate with machine learning, robotics, fleet debugging, and data annotation teams to improve training data quality and guide R&D priorities.

Lead firmware development for autonomous robots, including board bring-up, drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and automated hardware-in-the-loop testing. Develop shared firmware for mainboards and actuators in Rust and C, collaborate with manufacturing partners, and work with ML and mechanical teams to prototype and validate sensors. The role emphasizes production reliability, safety, electromechanical systems, and embedded hardware integration.
