Represents nurses and local units in labor relations activities, including negotiations, arbitration preparation, grievance processing, contract administration, organizing campaigns, member support, training, and employer meetings. The role collaborates with labor counsel, maintains labor-related databases, visits hospitals and clinical settings, and develops knowledge of laws and regulations affecting nurse representation. Extensive regional travel, flexible hours, overnight stays, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Leads organization-wide strategy, planning, governance, and cross-functional initiatives for a statewide nurses association. Partners with the Executive Director and senior leaders to translate priorities into measurable plans, oversee project frameworks, improve organizational performance, coordinate operational functions, and support Board and Labor Executive Council decisions. The role also supervises staff, partners with Finance, advances JEDI principles, and supports IT, membership, business operations, and office services.

Develops and edits communications across email, web, social media, newsletters, print, and promotional channels. Creates press materials, supports media outreach, promotes events and labor actions, and develops membership recruitment and engagement campaigns. Monitors news and social media, advises stakeholders on messaging, and translates nursing, labor, and healthcare policy issues into clear communications for members, the public, and media.
