Welcome to VIZIO
The advent of smart televisions has opened new doors for engagement. For the Denver arm of VIZIO, that means developing tech through which advertisers can reach desired audiences, as well as the data and analytics infrastructure to glean valuable insights. As teammates describe, it’s an exciting juncture to be at. “What you build here will redefine how people look and interact with a TV,” a senior leader said.

“We have a great team here at Vizio, and we are very supportive management,” said Ben Sullins. For him, Vizio is a community of smart, technical people that manage intense software demands. By investing in employee resources such as Rust, custom tech & off-the-shelf systems, the company ensures a collaborative workforce built from good hiring practices. “We have a fast-paced business and need to deliver software quickly, but without bugs,” Sullins said. “We solve this problem with good automation, strong attention to detail, frequent code reviews and interactions with our internal customers."

Long gone is the age of reaching viewers just through commercials. “We allow you to interact with the advertiser by giving you more information and images, taking surveys or, one day, buying right on the TV,” said Mudd, who helps drive engineering for interactive TV. It’s hardly a siloed affair: As Mudd said, it begs efforts across all parts of VIZIO’s tech, plus its automatic content recognition arm, Inscape.
