Vidgeo
<p>Vidgeo is a company that develops the Vidgeo App for iOS & Android.</p><p> </p><p>The Vidgeo app is a unique video browsing and sharing application that brings together communities of individuals. The application allows users to upload short 15 second videos that they take. The videos are then put on a server where their location information is stored. This is later used to pin videos to a map. </p><p> </p><p>Through displaying videos on a map, the user can view videos of things around them or things local to them. This also offers a unique way of browsing, for example, a user could go to the map of Tokyo, find a popular arcade, sort by rating, and see the highest rated videos of arcade action in Japan.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to allowing the users a unique way of browsing videos, Vidgeo offers a way to build communities in locales. When a user opens Vidgeo, they can only view videos from their locale, to view videos outside of their locale they must spend "Global Views" (A sort of Vidgeo Currency that can be earned by the user performing specific actions; e.g. sharing to Facebook). This applicaiton behavior entices users to view videos from their locale. This can also be used as a tool to serve contextualized and targeted videos to users of the app. </p><p> </p><p>E.G. I am from Chicago, I'm considering which restaurant to go to, I should check out brief Vidgeos from a list of possible candidate restaurants.</p>
