Leads the vessel’s entire engine and technical department, overseeing safe operation, maintenance, repairs, regulatory compliance, budgets, planned maintenance, environmental protection, inspections, emergency readiness, and crew development. The Chief Engineer manages main and auxiliary machinery, electrical systems, propulsion, water and waste systems, lifesaving equipment, fire systems, HVAC, and technical documentation. The role reports to the Captain and Marine Technical Department and requires extensive HSC RoRo passenger ferry experience.

The 2nd Engineer oversees safe engine-room watches, operation and maintenance of main and auxiliary engines, machinery repairs, fuel and ballast operations, pollution prevention, and technical compliance. The role supervises engine-room personnel, coordinates maintenance and spare parts, maintains logs and safety equipment, supports vessel seaworthiness, and ensures compliance with STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, MLC, and company procedures. The position serves aboard a cruise vessel for approximately three months.

Leads all engineering, electrical, mechanical, maintenance, safety, environmental, and technical operations aboard a high-speed Ro-Ro passenger ferry. Oversees engine department personnel, machinery and equipment, planned maintenance, budgets, fuel and waste management, inspections, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, documentation, and vessel readiness. Reports to the Captain and Marine Technical Department while coordinating with shipboard departments and technical contractors.
