Conduct research in engineering biology and medical mycology by developing a pan-fungal molecular bioimaging toolbox, including fluorescently labeled fungal pathogen strains. Lead computational and bioinformatic strain-engineering work, design and analyze experiments, and collaborate with experimental and computational scientists to investigate fungal biology, infection contexts, and antifungal resistance. The role also offers opportunities to develop an independent research project and contribute to grant applications.

Conduct experimental research on how changing light conditions affect Antarctic diatom population growth and silica uptake. Investigate the biogeochemical consequences for silica cycling in the Southern Ocean, contribute to the Polar Dawn project, support the wider research team, guide PhD students, and develop national and international collaborations and publications.

Supports research and teaching computing at the School of Informatics by administering GPU compute clusters, particularly postgraduate student deployments. The role contributes to local infrastructure and service development, maintains computing services, and provides technical support to cluster users and other service users. It offers opportunities to develop skills in system administration, service development, and technical support while working in a hybrid-capable university environment.
