Teams at UMB Banks

Leads alternative investment fund accounting and administration teams, overseeing financial reporting, NAV calculations, reconciliations, valuations, regulatory filings, audits, client relationships, controls, and staff development. Ensures compliance with SEC, IRS, and GAAP requirements while reviewing fund activity, fees, financial statements, and investment records. Serves as the primary client contact and drives process improvements and system enhancements.

Balances and reviews transactions for alternative investment accounts with penny-level accuracy, supports accurate new-fund setup, and advances through a dual-control reviewer process. Responds to client inquiries by phone and email to maintain customer satisfaction. Requires a bachelor’s degree, account balancing experience, and at least six months of direct customer support experience. Mutual fund, alternative investment, and transfer agency experience are preferred.

Supports the Tax Accounting Alternative Investments team by gathering and tracking client tax documents, preparing initial tax returns and workpapers, communicating with clients, and distributing tax documents to investors. The internship provides practical experience with tax accounting processes, Excel, UMB systems, deadlines, and client service while increasing responsibility over time.
