Teams at U.S.VETS

Generates grant and contract billing, prepares annual and grant budgets, monitors program and site financial performance, and ensures compliance with funding requirements and regulations. Prepares financial reports, budget modifications, funding requests, and receivables collections while coordinating with site leadership and the national office. Performs accounting functions, analyzes fiscal activity, and reports financial status to stakeholders.

Reviews employee timecards for accuracy and California wage-and-hour compliance, identifies discrepancies, tracks corrections, and supports payroll processing. Maintains Excel dashboards and compliance reports, communicates with employees and supervisors about missing or incorrect entries, assists with onboarding and training materials, and recommends timekeeping process improvements. The role also supports audits and handles confidential payroll information.

Serve as primary legal advisor to nonprofit leadership, HR, and the Board on employment law, contracts, compliance, governance, litigation, investigations, and organizational risk. Manage outside counsel, negotiate legal documents, monitor regulatory changes, and provide practical guidance on sensitive workplace and business matters.
