The Principal Scientist/Senior Researcher II will lead research in photonic-electronic integration, develop a research team, secure funding, and manage projects, while fostering collaboration and innovation in the field.

Conduct funded doctoral research on passive photonic integrated circuits and scalable control architectures for multi-wavelength optical I/O in AI datacentres. Responsibilities include PIC design, optical link and system modelling, WDM and fibre-coupling design, calibration and monitoring, prototype characterisation, automated measurement, and integration with electronic and photonic components. The student will develop tape-out-ready platforms, publish research, complete coursework, collaborate with academic and industry partners, and support outreach and education activities.
