The specialist reviews customer paperwork, resolves non-compliance issues, manages hazardous documentation KPIs, supports vessel and terminal operations, educates customers, and collaborates cross-functionally to improve freight processes and prevent shipment delays.

Conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions across maritime and terminal operations. Administer HSSE and compliance programs, monitor safety metrics, maintain regulatory records, support OSHA, USCG, DOT, EPA, and maritime compliance, facilitate training and emergency preparedness, oversee contractor safety, assist with cargo loss prevention and claims investigations, and contribute to business continuity and continuous improvement initiatives.

Supports vessel, warehouse, and terminal operations by receiving, dispatching, stuffing, stripping, lashing, and preparing cargo for sea transport. Maintains inventory, emergency and lashing gear, yard layouts, equipment, and housekeeping standards. Assists truck drivers, operates or qualifies on forklifts and yard hustlers, cleans containers, and follows safety procedures. The role requires strenuous outdoor work, independent judgment, effective communication, and the ability to handle oversized or awkward loads in changing operational conditions.
