Performs GIS production and geographic analysis using Esri software and geospatial data. Updates, converts, organizes, and troubleshoots GIS data and applications; creates maps, reports, and presentations; and supports project deliverables and deadlines. Collaborates with project managers and peers while independently solving problems and following defined processes. Transportation, stormwater, hydrology, linear referencing, and Esri production-mapping experience are advantageous.

Summer 2027 interns will gain hands-on experience working with professionals on real projects at Timmons Group’s Charlottesville office. The program is intended for students pursuing coursework in civil engineering, landscape architecture, or urban planning. Interns will explore career paths, build practical skills, contribute to client work, and participate in a collaborative company culture.

Entry-level civil project engineer supporting land development and traffic projects. Responsibilities include designing infrastructure components in AutoCAD Civil 3D, performing engineering calculations, preparing specifications and plan sets, conducting field observations and inspections, collecting data, collaborating with clients and design teams, and contributing to cost estimates and technical reports.
