Perform advanced finite element analyses for stellarator systems, including nonlinear structural, thermal, vibration, and magnetic simulations. Develop complex models involving contacts, plasticity, large deformations, materials, and welds; optimize structural designs; and provide data-driven recommendations for critical engineering decisions. The role also includes scripting around FEA tools, supporting first-of-a-kind system development, improving designs, and providing technical guidance and peer review to junior analysts.

Performs advanced finite element analysis and coupled multiphysics simulations for stellarator systems, including thermal, structural, vibration, and magnetic loading. Develops system-level models, evaluates stress, fatigue, creep, and transient conditions, optimizes designs, and improves material models. Establishes FEA methodology, supports high-risk engineering decisions, mentors junior analysts, conducts peer reviews, and serves as a subject matter expert on weld evaluations and cryogenic material behavior.

Design and develop mechanical fusion components and subsystems for stellarator systems. Responsibilities include structural, thermal, and electromagnetic analysis; CAD design and drawings; tooling design; manufacturability; vendor and manufacturing support; commissioning; and qualification testing. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and solving complex engineering problems in a fast-paced environment.
