Teams at The Trust for Governors Island

Manages the seasonal Organizations in Residence arts program, including open calls, outreach, selection, onboarding, calendars, partner coordination, marketing assets, contracts, facilities, and public programming. Serves as the primary liaison to resident arts organizations and artists, supports exhibitions and events, coordinates onsite logistics, and attends weekend programs. The role also provides administrative and programmatic support to the Governors Island Arts team.

The General Counsel serves as the Trust’s lead attorney and strategic legal advisor, overseeing contracts, real estate transactions, construction, procurement, regulatory compliance, litigation, risk management, insurance, employment matters, governance, and outside counsel. The role manages legal staff, supports the Board and senior leadership, coordinates with government agencies, and ensures compliance with applicable city and state requirements. The position requires a JD, New York State Bar admission, and at least ten years of progressively responsible legal experience.
