The Plant Engineer oversees mechanical operations, equipment maintenance, engineering projects, preventive maintenance programs, regulatory compliance, safety, food quality support, and machinery-related expenditures at a frozen vegetable processing facility. The role evaluates mechanical performance, coordinates maintenance activities, develops corrective actions, supports audits and SOPs, and applies engineering principles to improve production capability and cost effectiveness. The position also participates in the plant Emergency Response Team and works in refrigerated or freezer conditions.

Processes and monitors customer orders received through EDI, fax, and phone; manages vendor-managed inventory replenishment; resolves service issues; coordinates with customers, brokers, warehouses, and internal teams; prepares invoices and military delivery tickets; maintains purchase order and invoice records; and helps reduce customer deductions and penalties.

Supports plant HR operations, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits enrollment, payroll and timekeeping data, HRIS maintenance, employee records, I-9 audits, safety documentation, and employee communications. Provides clerical support to plant management, processes accounts payable documentation, manages office supplies, coordinates drug and alcohol screening, and follows company, food safety, GMP, HACCP, and workplace safety procedures.
