Manages financial reporting, GAAP compliance, audits, journal entries, cash and financing projections, budgets, and mine-closing financial forecasts. Supervises, trains, and develops accounting personnel; communicates financial information to management and customers; and ensures compliance with MSHA, safety, and environmental regulations. Requires strong accounting, audit, communication, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills.

Supports financial and cost accounting at a mining operation, including budgeting, monthly mine cost reporting, cost analysis, journal entries, financial statements, general ledger analysis, accounts payable backup, and audit schedules. The role requires accurate, confidential work in an on-site mine environment while following MSHA, safety, and regulatory requirements. It also supports statistical research and other departmental accounting needs.

Supports the Information Systems team through application development, network and server administration, workstation deployment, field technology support, computer equipment maintenance, inventory tracking, and software license management. The internship requires rotating shifts, indoor and outdoor work, PPE use, physical lifting, a valid driver’s license, and compliance with safety regulations.
