Teams at The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC)

Leads immigration advocacy and organizing across New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley. Builds diverse coalitions, mobilizes member organizations, coordinates local, state, and federal campaigns, develops relationships with policymakers, represents NYIC publicly, and supervises staff, fellows, interns, and volunteers. The role also coordinates advocacy strategy, supports rapid response efforts, and strengthens immigrant community engagement and political power.

Manages immigration legal training programs, curricula, trainer coordination, technical assistance, DOJ Recognition and Accreditation support, participant experience, CLE compliance, reporting, and program logistics. Conducts selected trainings, recruits subject matter experts, supports immigration legal service providers across New York State, and may supervise a training associate or intern. Requires substantive immigration legal services experience and strong facilitation, communication, relationship management, project management, and organizational skills.

The Senior Paralegal provides supervised immigration legal support to vulnerable clients, including screenings, intakes, document preparation, applications, motions, case management, and legal clinic support. The role coordinates complex projects, trains legal support staff, audits service data, improves administrative workflows, protects client information, and collaborates with attorneys, legal providers, and community organizations. Regular travel within New York State, occasional evening or weekend work, and strict compliance with attorney supervision and unauthorized-practice-of-law safeguards are required.
