The Aspen Institute Benefits Overview

The Associate Director will lead higher education reform initiatives focused on teaching, learning, character development, and student success. Responsibilities include developing frameworks, managing a community college cohort, facilitating leadership and faculty sessions, translating research into publications, cultivating funder relationships, overseeing grants and budgets up to $10 million, coordinating partners, and supervising staff. The role requires extensive higher education teaching and learning expertise, project leadership, executive communication, and experience working with college leaders and faculty.

Manages integrated communications, digital content, campaigns, brand stewardship, storytelling, owned channels, multimedia production, analytics, and creative vendors for the Aspen Global Leadership Network. The role supports Fellowship programs, Fellows, funders, partners, and governance communications while maintaining websites, newsletters, social media, email campaigns, templates, reporting, and content systems. It requires strong writing, editing, project management, design, media, and stakeholder coordination skills, with up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Provides budgeting, forecasting, grant accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for Aspen Institute programs. Maintains grant and accounting data, processes journal entries, reviews proposal budgets and agreements, monitors allocated costs, supports monthly financial reviews and audits, and prepares funder and management reports. The role partners extensively with program staff and financial leadership to ensure compliance, accurate forecasts, and sound accounting practices.
