Designs, executes, and interprets GLP and Animal Rule infectious disease research in high-containment laboratory settings. Develops research methodologies, supports publications and grant applications, leads collaborative studies, mentors scientists and technicians, and contributes to talent and performance management. The role focuses on animal models, diagnostics, therapies, and preventatives for pathogens of public health importance, with preference for experience across multiple species and BSL-3 or BSL-4 environments.

Supports infectious disease research in ABSL-3 and ABSL-4 laboratories by performing cell culture, ELISA, RT-PCR, sample processing, data management, equipment maintenance, disinfection, inventory control, and scientific documentation. The role follows laboratory protocols and safety standards, reviews relevant literature, assists with research presentations and publications, and may contribute to manuscripts, grant applications, and SOP development.

Conducts genomics and metagenomics study design, analysis planning, data analysis, interpretation, and scientific reporting for biomedical research. Collaborates with scientists and institutional cores, presents findings, develops visualizations, supports publications and grant proposals, and manages multiple multidisciplinary research projects. Requires advanced expertise in translating complex genomic data into actionable scientific conclusions.
