Mechanical Engineering Intern supporting Aluminum Dynamics’ cold mill operations during Summer 2027. Responsibilities include engineering analysis, experiments, data analysis, reporting, CAD design, process improvement, equipment troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and hands-on mechanical work with operators and maintenance teams. The intern will develop and test equipment improvements, resolve operational issues, and recommend changes that improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and throughput in an industrial aluminum manufacturing environment.

Manage electrical capital projects, maintenance, preventive maintenance, downturn activities, troubleshooting, documentation, and electrical installations or upgrades. Collaborate with operations, maintenance personnel, engineers, and contractors while supporting safety, quality, and production initiatives. Help develop electrical personnel and apply expertise in motor controls, variable frequency drives, power distribution, high-voltage maintenance, and root cause analysis.

Administers and maintains Cisco network infrastructure across offices, data centers, and manufacturing plants. Configures routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network security controls; monitors performance and leads troubleshooting. Supports plant-floor OT networks, executes upgrades and expansion projects, oversees cabling and equipment installation, maintains documentation, coordinates with vendors and IT teams, and mentors junior staff. Occasional night and weekend work is required.
