Teams at Spokane County

Performs legal research, drafts and edits pleadings, motions and trial documents, files orders, tracks discovery and payments, maintains attorney files and schedules, and interacts with police, witnesses, victims, and agencies to support prosecutors and public defenders in pretrial and trial preparation.

Provides advanced civil or criminal legal representation and supervision across various teams (Civil, Juvenile, Felony, Family, Public Defender/Counsel for Defense). Duties include litigation, legal advice, case evaluation, trial preparation and presentation, supervising and mentoring attorneys, drafting legal documents, negotiating, and advising county officials. May lead a section and handle complex legal matters across employment, environmental, land use, contract, tort, and juvenile or family law as assigned.

Provide complex HR support across employee relations, classification/compensation, investigations, EEO compliance, and labor relations. Serve as department POC, advise leaders, conduct classification and compensation analyses, assist with negotiations, and develop HR policies, training, and recommendations.
