Supervises case managers, social workers, and utilization review staff in a long-term acute care hospital. Oversees admission screening, utilization management, payer authorizations, denials, appeals, discharge planning, care transitions, regulatory compliance, documentation audits, reporting, and quality improvement. Coordinates interdisciplinary teams, supports complex patient care decisions, manages discharge barriers, and ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, payer requirements, CMS standards, and LTCH length-of-stay goals.

Monitors telemetry systems and responds to telemetry, blood pressure, and phone alarms. Maintains medical records, assists with patient call lights, answers phones, and performs clerical duties while following hospital policies. The role requires telemetry technician certification, BLS, computer knowledge, and a high school diploma or GED. EMT, CNA, or MA credentials and acute-care unit clerk experience are preferred.

Designs and delivers nursing education, hospital and staff orientation, continuing education, and evidence-based clinical training. Conducts learning needs assessments, evaluates instructional materials and programs, supports procedure testing, and advises facilities and committees on policies and program development. The educator mentors clinical and non-clinical staff, promotes continual learning, and may accept patient assignments based on hospital needs. Requires a California RN license, clinical experience, and BLS/ACLS certification.
