The Chief Engineer serves as the senior technical authority for fly-by-wire flight control systems, leading architecture, technical planning, cross-functional engineering execution, risk mitigation, requirements, design decisions, testing, and certification. The role coordinates software, hardware, systems, flight operations, suppliers, regulators, and certification teams to take SkyOS from concept through deployment on the R66 aircraft while ensuring safety, performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Supports systems-level testing and integration of avionics systems and subsystems in laboratory and aircraft environments. Responsibilities include writing and executing test procedures, maintaining test documentation and bills of materials, integrating and troubleshooting harnesses and wiring, supporting environmental and EMI/EMC testing, documenting anomalies, assisting root-cause analysis, and coordinating with cross-functional engineering and supplier teams.

Lead development and execution of system-level test equipment and procedures for avionics and electromechanical actuation systems. Support integration and troubleshooting in a Systems Integration Lab and aircraft environments, manage BOMs and supplier testing (environmental, EMI/EMC), document anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally to validate performance and reliability.
